Roxanne Houweling

I am an Immanuel girl, born and raised!  After high school, I attended Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, and, after graduating in 2002, moved back to Alberta where I started teaching at Ponoka Christian School.  From there I moved to Calgary Christian School and then Providence Christian School, and began teaching at ICSS eight years ago.

My summers are usually spent camping with my family and visiting places in Alberta.  I love reading and playing word games, as well as baking.  A future goal that I have is to run a half-marathon again.

I am an insatiable learner and love to ask "why", which led me to completing my Masters in Education with an emphasis in neuroscience and inclusive education.  My desire is to understand how students can learn using the God-given abilities they possess - and to be successful in their own way.  A defining book for me has been Dare to Lead by Brene Brown
